Terms of Service

Last updated: July 16, 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Codex Shredder, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. The service

Codex Shredder is a Commander (EDH) deckbuilding copilot: you chat about rules questions, card interactions, or a decklist, and Codex Shredder replies using Claude, verifying every card it discusses against Scryfall's public card database before asserting anything about it. The service runs on Ink — a per-conversation-turn balance. New accounts receive 30 Ink for free.

3. Ink and payments

Ink is purchased in one-time packs and never expires — no subscription, no monthly reset. All payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Prices are in USD and don't include any applicable taxes, which are your responsibility.

Ink is non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law. We don't offer refunds for unused Ink or dissatisfaction with a specific reply, since AI output is inherently variable.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Codex Shredder for any unlawful purpose, or attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or the Scryfall/Anthropic APIs it relies on.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the decklists and messages you send. We store your conversation history so you can pick a workshopping session back up later; you can delete any conversation at any time from the sidebar, which deletes it permanently.

6. Magic: The Gathering content

Codex Shredder is unofficial Fan Content permitted under Wizards of the Coast's Fan Content Policy. It is not approved or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast. Portions of the materials used are property of Wizards of the Coast. ©Wizards of the Coast LLC. Card data comes from Scryfall.

7. Disclaimers

Codex Shredder is provided "as is." Verifying a card against Scryfall confirms that card's real oracle text and legality — it does not guarantee that a suggestion, ruling interpretation, or deckbuilding opinion is correct or optimal. Always double-check rulings that matter for a real game. We make no guarantees about uptime.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
